My name is Garrus Vakarian, and while I know that many of you are disoriented and confused - some of you have been visibly surprised by people who are of different races or backgrounds and at least some of you come from cultures and times that have not reached space-faring technology - and you're probably afraid. I don't care what race you are or what planet you called him, that's totally normal. This is a frightening situation, having been picked up from our homes across the galaxy and finding ourselves in strange places, and now being told we're off course and there's no crew here.
But fear's something we have to set aside for now. I'd like to get a roster of who have come out of the pods, whether you were military or civilian, and what you skills you have. We're in a damaged ship going Spirits only knows where, and we need to organize if we're going to take control of this vessel and find out where we are, or how we ended up here.
Only cooperation will see us out of this alive -- and I don't know about the rest of you, but I know that I need to get back home. I'm certain you all do as well. The only way we're going to get there is if we put differences aside, and organize. I don't know about you, but I don't feel like being sucked into a singularity anytime soon -- so we need to get on ship repairs, get a course correction.
Please contact me with all the information I've asked for, and if you have any particular skills. We'll attempt to organize into groups by skillset - medical, defense, command, engineering, so on. If you're private sector or civilian, we can still use your skills. Even if it's just helping with exploration, managing supplies -- no ship runs without it's enlisted crew and frankly, that's what a lot of us just became.
[For all of that, he has one last thing to say -- something that concerns him, but will have be addressed.]
Now, if you don't want to help out, that's your perogative. Just understand that nobody's an island here-- everything we do will affect each other. If you think you're going to loaf on the backs of other people's hard work -- you'll have another thing coming. Think of home and how fast you want to get there. Think of how fast you won't get there if you're not putting in your own work.
Think hard on how fast we're going toward that black pit out there.
Then think about if you don't want to help.
